Missionary Mary Proctor

(B. 1960) Mary resides in Tallahassee , Florida with her husband Tyrone and four children. While grieving the loss of some close relatives; she heard a voice instructing her to paint on a door. She took up the brush and never looked back. Mary's fun color filled paintings combine both found materials along with paint. Being a religious artist, “Missionary,” Mary creates paintings of angels, prayers and graceful, decorative images of women. Her paintings always communicate a slogan that usually has some truthful message worthy of pondering. She is considered to be one of the younger stars of the Folk Art World having had a one woman exhibition in New York City within her first 3 years of becoming an artist. Mary continues producing her beautiful heart felt images.
