Paintings

PAINTINGS… I enjoy painting in oils mostly, however some types of paintings that I do, require acrylics. This transition from one medium to another has never bothered me. I paint figurative and abstract styles and enjoy both very much. I put figures generally in my abstracts so they are what we call “Abstract Figerative” paintings . My figurative work is very rapid in the Ala Prima method, which means. “All in one”. I like to paint my friends and relatives from life. Although for portraits I have used photos, especially important for painting kids. I insist on taking my own however, because photograph is another one of my passions. I also enjoy painting landscapes in the French Impressionists method known as “Pleain Aire,” literally translated means ‘Full Air’. ‘On site’ is how we interpret it. Also I was very enamored by Surrealism for six years and put a lot of effort into it… but gradually the desire wore off. I thought I had left surrealism behind me about 15 years ago but recently I painted a Green Man in the forest and he’s very like my surrealism style of the past. So it’s possible there might be more Surrealistic paintings coming out of me in the future…
